Will You Go, Lassie, Go?

St. Patrick's Day Parade - Newton, NJ

Although gray skies and a bit o' rain fell on us as we lined up to march, the sun shone down on Spring Street once the parade began.  It was a great day for the Irish.

St. Patrick, help us to keep the true Catholic Faith which you brought to Ireland!

Here's an article about the parade from the Advertiser-News:

NEW ALBUM! Songs of Life, Loss, & Love

The McDonald Family Singers announce their new album, Beneath the Dove

Dylan shares 5 original songs about life, loss and love on his first EP.

Inspired by the everyday rhythms of marriage and family life with 12 children, Beneath the Dove is mostly solo acoustic guitar and vocals with the rest of the family adding fiddle, rhythm guitar, and backup vocals on 2 tracks.

“We have been given a love for a lifetime.

And all of our living has lifted us and drawn us

To the Wood where we rest:

Because we share a grace-filled love,

Because we dared the road beneath the dove.”

~ from the song, “Beneath the Dove”

St. Patrick's Day Parade Pictures

It was a cold, snowy day in Newton, New Jersey for our first St. Patrick's Day Parade!  We managed to play and sing the whole way, including a scheduled stop in front of the Grand Marshalls.

The boys played to a packed community room at the Franklin Library yesterday.  It was great to have a three-generational audience, from babies to seniors, enjoying traditional Irish music.  We also added some Irish step dancing and a closing song by the whole family.  Thank you to all those who came out to join us for this event!

The Advertiser-News reporter posted some photos from the performance.  Click HERE to access his online album.
